Best Apple Orchards Near Fairfield, CT

During the fall season, we get to enjoy many delicious foods and flavors, like peanut butter kisses, pomegranates, pumpkin spice (bring on the lattes), and of course, apples. While apples can be enjoyed anytime of the year, they taste the best during the fall season. Here at Land Rover Fairfield, we like to think of the apple as the SUV of the fruit family because of its versatility. You can eat it plain or dipped in caramel – or enjoy it in a pie, cider, or hundreds of other recipes. While you can easily find numerous apple variations at your local grocery store, there is something special about visiting a local apple orchard. Here are a few of our favorites:

Plasko’s Farm LLC

Location: 670 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull
Phone: 203-268-2716
Website: plaskofarm.com

Plasko’s Farm offers the ultimate experience each autumn at its family-owned operation. New England families travel great distances to purchase the farm’s apples and other seasonal produce – and to enjoy the corn maze! The farm also has a bakery with the best cider donuts, and there is a creamery with ice cream and Italian ice!

Bishop’s Orchards

Location: 1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford
Phone: 203-453-2338
Website: bishopsorchards.com

If you are traveling along Connecticut’s coastal roads, Bishop’s Orchards is a wonderful pitstop. The orchard offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own apples or shop from their farm market (products include dry goods, breads, locally-made cheeses, produce, honey, and jams). Visitors also love the specialty fruit wines that are created at the on-site winery.

Location: 278 Leavenworth Road, Shelton
Phone: 203-926-1098
Website: beardsleyscidermill.com

Beardsley’s Cider Mill & Orchard offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own apples –or purchase a bushel or a peck from their farm store. They also sell cider and other fruits, along with locally produced raw honey (which can make a great gift during the holiday season). A bakery is also on site, and some of the goodies available include cookies, breads, pies, cider donuts, and pumpkin cheesecakes.
